What we earn and how it works
Casinos pay us when readers sign up through our links. This page explains the three deal types, where we show the amounts and why commission is kept out of every score.
Short answer
We are paid by casinos when a reader signs up or plays after clicking one of our links. The deal is either a fixed fee per new depositing player (CPA), a share of what the casino earns from that player (revenue share), or both (hybrid). We show what each casino pays us next to its score. The commission is not part of the score.
Why we take affiliate money
Testing costs money. Every money test uses a real C$50 deposit, hours of play and a tester’s time, and we retest every six months. Affiliate commission pays for that. We do not charge readers and we do not sell placements.
The three deal types
A casino pays an affiliate in one of three ways. The words below are the ones used in the industry, so you will see them in casino affiliate programs.
| Deal | How we are paid | Example |
|---|---|---|
| CPA (cost per acquisition) | A one-time fixed amount when a new player signs up and makes a qualifying first deposit. | The casino pays C$X once, whatever the player does next. |
| Revenue share | A percentage of the casino’s net gaming revenue from that player, usually every month, for as long as the player plays. | If the casino keeps C$100 net from a player in a month and the share is Y%, we get C$Y. |
| Hybrid | A smaller fixed amount plus a smaller percentage. | C$X once, plus Y% of net revenue. |
Revenue share means an affiliate earns more when its readers lose. We say this plainly because it is the reason commission must stay away from ratings. A site paid on player losses has a reason to send you to the casino that keeps the most. Our test is built to show you which casino pays out, so the two pull in different directions and we keep them apart.
Why commission never enters the score
The score is the average of four ratings from our own test: Trust and Fairness, Games and Software, Bonuses and Promotions, Customer Support. The method is on how we test. There is no fifth input. A casino that pays more cannot buy a higher rating, and a casino that pays nothing can still rank first.
The order of a list is set by score unless the page says otherwise (for example, “sorted by newest” on new casinos). If a casino ever asked us to change a rating in exchange for a better deal, we would refuse and record the request in our internal log.
Where amounts are shown
- On each review page, next to the score, under “What this casino pays us”.
- In the table below, for every casino we work with.
- Every link that can earn us money is marked “affiliate link”. Buttons go through our redirect at /play/{casino}/ so we can count clicks.
We do not show partner casinos or their offers to readers in Ontario or Alberta, where they are not registered. So we earn nothing from readers in those provinces.

What affiliate links track
When you click an affiliate link, our click tracker records the click and passes an anonymous ID to the casino so the casino can tell which sign-ups came from us. We never receive your casino account details, your deposits or your identity documents. Details are in our privacy policy.
