MiFinity casinos in Canada: the e-wallet, Interac and its fees
MiFinity is an e-wallet that Canadians load and cash out by Interac in CAD. Loading is free; getting money back to your bank costs C$4.
Short answer
MiFinity is an e-wallet used at many offshore casinos. In Canada you load it by Interac e-Transfer or Interac Request Money for free, pay casinos from the wallet, receive payouts into it, and cash out to your bank by Interac for C$4 per withdrawal. Card top-ups cost 2.5% to 4%, and currency conversion is typically up to 2.99%. MiFinity UK Limited is authorised by the UK Financial Conduct Authority as an e-money institution.

What MiFinity is
MiFinity is a digital wallet. MiFinity UK Limited, registered in Northern Ireland, is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority under the UK Electronic Money Regulations 2011 (register reference 900090). A second company, MiFinity Malta Limited, is authorised by the Malta Financial Services Authority. Canadian support came through a partnership with Gigadat Solutions, which added Interac and CAD.
We have not found MiFinity on the FINTRAC money services business registry. The regulator that applies to your wallet is the one named in the terms you accept at sign-up.
Fees, worked through
MiFinity’s fee page splits costs by method. For a Canadian using Interac both ways:
- Load C$100 by Interac e-Transfer: no MiFinity fee. Your bank’s e-Transfer fee may apply (free on most chequing plans).
- Pay C$100 to a casino from the wallet, and later receive a C$300 payout: we found no MiFinity fee for these merchant payments on the fee page.
- Cash out C$300 to your bank by Interac: C$4, which is 4 ÷ 300 = 1.3%. On a C$40 cash-out the same C$4 is 10%.
Two charges are easy to miss. If you load by credit card, the 2.5% to 4% fee comes on top of any cash advance treatment by your bank. If the casino works in USD or EUR and your wallet is in CAD, the conversion margin (typically up to 2.99%) applies each way: on C$200 converted out and back, that can be up to about C$12 (C$200 × 0.0299 × 2).
Fee figures were read from MiFinity’s global fee page; the labels on the page’s tabs did not load for us, so we matched the deposit and withdrawal figures to the methods they list.
How a deposit works
- Open a MiFinity account and set the wallet to CAD.
- Top up by Interac e-Transfer or Interac Request Money from your bank. Use a bank account in your own name; MiFinity requires that payment methods belong to the account holder.
- In the casino cashier, choose MiFinity, enter the amount and log in to approve.
- The casino credits your balance.
How a withdrawal works
- Verify your casino account; the casino checks ID before the first payout.
- Request the payout to MiFinity. Casinos usually pay to a method you have deposited with.
- When the casino approves, the money lands in your wallet.
- Cash out to your bank by Interac e-Transfer or Interac eCashout. The C$4 fee applies.
If you plan more casino play, you can leave the balance in the wallet and avoid paying C$4 each time. Measured payout times: fast payout casinos.
Verification
MiFinity verifies identity with a selfie and a photo document (passport, ID card or driver’s licence), plus proof of address, in the “Verify Yourself” section. Business cards and accounts can’t be used. Limits for unverified and verified accounts:.
MiFinity or MuchBetter?
Both are e-wallets that Canadians load and cash out by Interac. The difference is mostly in the cash-out. MiFinity charges C$4 per Interac withdrawal to your bank; MuchBetter’s support pages say it charges no fee for Interac payments. On a C$100 cash-out that is C$4 against C$0. MiFinity publishes a full fee table, including card top-ups and conversion; MuchBetter’s fee page does not list top-up and bank withdrawal fees by method, so check the app. Pick the one your casino lists for both deposits and withdrawals.
